Celtic Cowboy Company Website

Newsletter for September, 2009

I have been in the hospital for a good part of this monthso the website had very little done. I am out now and pronounced healthy.

Changes to the various sections are outlined below.

The Celtic Connection to Texas History

The Confederate Texas section has some new material.

There have been some additions to Other Morans including the Winthrop Morans and a family of Mauran. There is a piece on Napoleon's Lt. General Morand and another persons view on the origins of the Moran Clans.

There is a new Coats of Arms in the Coats of Arms section.

Hispanic Morans, the Black Irish and Moor Morans have been added to the Appendices.

I am looking for a good image copy of John Donovan's map of the Territory of Hy Fiachrach that accompanied the book about the genealogy of the family by Mac Firbus. I plan to enter below the ancient Irish, the current English terms for the locations show

There are two sides to every story and in my direct family's case that other side of the Moran family is the Traynor family. Of course this changes as you go back or forward in generations, but in the case of my Father, his mother's maiden name is Traynor. That makes all my Father's brothers and sisters (13) and their children, and their children, etc. related as well. Kate Sullivan, daughter of my Father's sister Kae Moran (Sullivan), has built a website showing the Traynors and all the allied families. It has gotten to be quite a genealogical database and has provided many finds including the interrelationship of several of the same families over the generations and finding a large number of cousins in New Zealand. Kate Sullivan, daughter of Jim Sullivan and Kae MORAN Sullivan, who put together the TRAYNOR family genealogy. can be reached at this e-mail address:kategalway@yahoo.com That site is http://www.tribalpages.com the username is "Traynor" for the ID ( password), please e-mail Kate.

TXHIS Rangers

This section was developed for others to pursue, but as they have not - it is being carried here until someone (an educator interested in Texas history) takes it on. There is nothing here other than the set up at this time.

Views from my garden has been added to.

I am expecting soon word on the Soto Dam project and will include it as soon as I get it.

Nothing new here.
