Celtic Cowboy Company Website Newsletter

Newsletter for December, 2010

..................and a............................

May your holidays be happy and warm and the new year one of your best.

The background this month reminds me of the Irish lace table cloth my grandmother brought out each Christmas to decorate the dining room table which was a very rich, deep colored and always polished, mahogany table.

The website averaged over 3,000 visits a week last month with the following countries leading in visits:

Mexico, France, USA, Canada with Spain, Australia and The Netherlands close behind. The Celtic Connection pages led in interest with Moran pages next followed by the Areoplanes Vought pages.

Most visitors come to us via Google with some from Bing and a small amount from Yahoo. Most are using Internet Explorer for their browser though we do get traffic from Mozilla and Safari. Windows is by far the dominant OS, more than 90%, with Mac coming in at 9% and Linux at 1%

We have had to change our FTP program since it is no longer supported by its developer (Ipswitch). We are now using Windows Explorer for our ftp managment (takes a bit of getting used to). Our web pages are still made with a program bought before the year 2000, Corel Webmaster Suite. Our maps and graphic modifications are done with Paint or Paint Shop Pro

To my Dutch friends of Crossmolina, Edmond and Aine Van Estrik- my computer crashed and one of the things lost was your e-mail address. Please contact me so I can respond and regain your address.

The Celtic Connection to Texas History

Nothing new was added other than corrections for spelling etc.

Additions were made to the section showing Moran websites

The Morans in Assam section has been expanded with probably more information than you want to read, except of course those really interested in it.

There are two sides to every story and in my direct family's case that other side of the Moran family is the Traynor family. Of course this changes as you go back or forward in generations, but in the case of my Father, his mother's maiden name is Traynor. That makes all my Father's brothers and sisters (13) and their children, and their children, etc. related as well. Kate Sullivan, daughter of my Father's sister Kae Moran (Sullivan), has built a website showing the Traynors and all the allied families. It has gotten to be quite a genealogical database and has provided many finds including the interrelationship of several of the same families over the generations and finding a large number of cousins in New Zealand. Kate Sullivan, daughter of Jim Sullivan and Kae MORAN Sullivan, who put together the TRAYNOR family genealogy. can be reached at this e-mail address:kategalway@yahoo.com That site is http://www.tribalpages.com the username is "Traynor" for the ID ( password), please e-mail Kate.

There have been a number of additions to this section of the website. Check last month's newsletter to see most of them.

There have been some additions to the V-Corsair section.

The story of catapult mail from the German liners Bremen and Europa has been expanded to show the naval aviation advances prior that made it possible. There are some great pictures of early naval aviation. The former story is still in place.

Added a color drawing of the Vought TF-120 and a drawing of the V-1000.

The Soto Dam Memorial has been updated with a new plaque in place with the corrected names. Pictures of the new plaque are posted.
